The clients Sara works with come to therapy with a desire to better understand themselves and how experiences in their past inform who they are today. They may experience anxiety and depression or feel overwhelmed by stressors in their lives. Oftentimes, they struggle to cope with emotions or experiences day to day and can be hard on themselves for this and its impact on their lives.
Whether relationship issues, identity exploration, emotional challenges, or past trauma, Sara will work with you to process the varying symptoms that accompany these experiences, so you can move towards a life of fullness and connection with self and others. The work will be collaborative, drawing from your strengths and personal goals to create a relationship and space that feels safe, healing, and helpful for you. Sara views the work from a person-centered and attachment-based lens, utilizing evidence-based modalities including EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Beginning or continuing your path to healing takes courage and you do not have to navigate it alone. Sara offers free 15-minute consultations and welcomes hearing from you.

More information about Sara:
What are your specialties and why are they important to you? – I specialize in working with adolescents and those hoping to heal from issues connected to self-worth and/or trauma. Working with adolescents is important to me because I think any young person who is brave enough to be curious about themselves and ask for help when needed is deserving of a warm and supportive environment to do so. Additionally, supporting clients navigating issues of self-worth and/or trauma is important to me because those experiences can often be incredibly isolating and burdensome and I want to help clients lighten the load they are carrying and feel seen and understood in the process.
What do you love most about being a counselor? – What I love most about being a therapist is getting to witness firsthand the powerful resilience of the human spirit. I also love getting to learn about my clients and have moments of lightness and laughter with them.
What areas of therapy are you most passionate about? I love learning about and applying EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Attachment Theory into my practice.
What are your favorite self-care practices? The self-care practices I find that I need consistently are meditation, movement, time in nature, and creative outlets (I love playing piano, crocheting, and crafting).
