When working with clients, Amy uses her warm personality along with her relational approach to engage her clients in the therapeutic process. She has always strived to have a supportive, collaborative relationship with her clients, allowing for deep personal growth and healing.

When seeing clients, Amy also uses practical, solution focused interventions to tailor therapy to meet the specific needs of each individual client. Her specialties are working with women who struggle with stress and anxiety, depression, women’s wellness issues, difficult life transitions, relationship issues, and job related concerns. Amy uses an empowerment perspective to help clients explore their inner selves to find their personal strengths.

Amy holds a Masters degree in Social Work with a Clinical focus in Mental Health from The University of Maryland, School of Social Work. Throughout her Master’s degree, she worked with a variety of individuals with a range of issues to help them find the paths to happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives. Amy is also certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), a specialized training to help individuals and organizations during crises. She is also a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). Amy has become a member of the National Association of Professional Women, an organization recognizing the country’s most accomplished professional women. Amy was recently highlighted as a featured Alumni at the the University of Maryland School of Social Work Homecoming celebration.

When Amy is not working, she loves spending time at home with her husband and children, enjoying nature outside with the family dog or exploring the local farmers markets.

In order to reach out to more individuals in need, Amy opened her own private practice, Another Look at Healing, LLC – Gaithersburg Counseling Center in Montgomery County, MD in 2008. While Amy is currently taking a break from providing therapy to clients, she is enjoying spending time at home with her young children.
