Sy Bailey (they/them) is a warm, caring and compassionate counselor. They allow the healing process and empathy to guide their interactions with clients in the therapeutic process. They strive to hold space that is collaborative and empowering for their clients to experience healing, growth, and recognize their wholeness.
When working with clients, Sy uses a variety of interventions tailored for each individual. With a background in yoga therapy, they enjoy using mindfulness based strategies and somatic approaches when needed. Their specialities include working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, individuals exploring their gender identity, trauma, anxiety, and PTSD.
Sy holds a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy as well as a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Ayurvedic Wellness Practice from Maryland University of Integrative Health. They are currently working on a Master of Science in Counseling with concentrations in somatic counseling and human sexuality at Prescott College. They have prior experience working as a yoga therapist with active duty military, veterans, and family members, and had a previous career as a swim coach where they empowered swimmers to meet their athletic goals in the water. Sy is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE).
When Sy is not in the counseling space, you can find them teaching yoga, stand up paddling boarding, rock climbing, camping, and hanging with their cat, Bodhi.

Sy has completed extra trainings for working with the LGBTGEQIAP+ community as well as other trainings through LivingWorks on ASIST and safeTalk to aid people who may be having thoughts of suicide.
