It takes great courage to process one’s suffering and begin to heal, but you don’t have to do it alone. For over ten years, Shana Spier has treated young women, adults, couples and seniors, helping them to form loving relationships, build self-esteem, and cope with overwhelming emotions. Shana specializes in depression, anxiety, eating disorders, attachment, grief and loss, and fertility issues. Shana also enjoys working with couples. She provides a safe space to unblock communication problems, foster a new understanding of long-term issues, and develop new and adaptive solutions.
Therapy focuses on helping clients develop a deeper insight into thoughts, feelings and perceptions that influence patterns in their lives. Together, we will work to understand your experience and to identify and alter destructive patterns and build healthy relationships. Shana uses a psychodynamic, relational and strength based approach to help patients detect and overcome obstacles, and develop greater emotional strength.
Shana has lived in three different countries and worked with people from multiple cultural backgrounds. She completed her Bachelor and Master’s degree in Conflict Management and Mediation at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel and her MSW degree at Yeshiva University in New York. In addition to her work as a clinical social worker and psychotherapist, Shana has also completed advanced psychodynamic training at the Washington School of Psychiatry.
